Catbus Picspam
Apr. 3rd, 2009 07:37 amHaving found an adorable Neko no basu plushie during our visit to Harvard Square, I just had to post its picture. Of course, then I found so many awesome examples of creativity, like Catbus origami, Catbus bento meals, a Catbus built from Legos, and even a few Catbus cars:

There was even a Catbus for sale last year, a big fuzzy one that people might remember if they've been to Burning Man.
In Nagasaki, you can visit Catbus as well as other Studio Ghibli creations at the Ghibli Museum, the only place where you can see a short film, Mei to Koneko Basu (Mei and the Baby Catbus):

And yes, that is a Kittenbus! >^_^<
Back in 2004, the Asian Exhibit Initiative, comprised of seven traveling exhibits, featured Jump to Japan: Discovering Culture Through Popular Art, produced by Minnesota Children's Museum and The Children's Museum, Seattle, which featured a Catbus that kids could climb inside. By the end of 2008, the AEI had visited 77 children's museums around the US. The next stop for this exhibit is the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, from May 9, 2009 - September 7, 2009. If you'd like to see this exhibit come to your local children's museum, contact them.
