A few days ago, I posted here a few links to websites in the US where one can order dairy-free chocolates for the holidays.  For those of you who like to know how your chocolate is made, where it comes from, and whether the workers are treated fairly, here's an updated list of chocolatiers, many of whom are dedicated Organic, Free Trade.

Note: We need more dedicated allergen-free facilities, but until the demand for specialty chocolate increases substantially, these companies are our best bets. Some of them are completely dairy-free facilities that were started in order to give food-allergic family members and friends a safer alternative. Most chocolate is made on shared equipment or in facilities that also use dairy, nut, etc., so I've tried to sort them out by those less likely to send my daughter to the emergency room. Although the chocolate itself is dairy-free, they cannot guarantee that trace amounts of allergens are not present. Be sure to read the nutrition and ingredient information at each website for details.

Whey-out Chocolates (makes dairy-free white chocolate, too!)
They have fun merchandise at their CafePress store as well.

Chocolate Decadence
Yachana Gourmet donates to The Animal Rescue Site.com.
Sjaak's organic
Chocolate Emporium
Divvies
BĂȘte Noire
A humorous note: the term bĂȘte noire means "black beast" or pet peeve, and is the name of a flourless chocolate cake.
Indulge In Chocolate
Lake Champlain Chocolates

In case you cannot find that chocolate bunny you were looking for, buy a candy mold and melt down these alternatives:

Dairy-free Chocolate Bars
Scharffenberger
Endangered Species
Half their products are vegan-friendly; they used to be sold at many  zoos.
Green & Black
Aside from the White and Milk Chocolate bars, the rest are dairy-free.
Tropical Source
I've had a lot of good luck with their products.

Dairy-free chocolate chips
Enjoy Life Foods
Amanda's Own
Chocolate Decadence
Sunspire
(Note:Their carob chips do contain milk, as we found out the hard way before the 2007 FDA's allergy labeling went into effect. However, we've used their grain-sweetened chocolate chips without problem.)

I'll keep updating this list for anyone who needs it.
