The Move:
Probably my last post. Originally, this computer was going with my hubby, but he ended up picking up the laptop early, and decided to keep me in the loop while they travel, and gave me the storage key. Which works out better in the long run, as today I'll have some help again. (The guy that I sold DVDs to has a truck, and he was extremely helpful yesterday. He's a bit like Hanners, and I'm like Marigold.) So I have someone who can bring stuff to storage with me, and then help me clean up the place and take out the donations. I did okay for the most part, although when loverboy came back from the errands and storage runs, I came close to my breaking point when he told me that there wouldn't be room for the bedding, plus it wouldn't fit the bunks. See, I'd bought the Chococat and guitar comforter sets for the kids for Yule, and it felt horrid for me to make the kids give them up. (I still might save the two comforters, though. It's bound to get cold at night.)
Today, the fridge and hopefully some furniture will be picked up. I may even get paid! The guy is buying my ACs, and whatever merchandise I am willing to part with. The washer/dryer may end up staying here, and the bed is being deflated and going into storage for my preggie sis-in-law to use. I'm sort of amazed at how steadily I've made progress and this without taking my meds for a week.
Medical:
Sore ankles, bruised legs, headache that kept me awake, insomnia from the heat and dehydration, little sleep, allergies, and... forgot to take my meds last night, hence mild panic attack. (Ironically, I remembered to bring LoverBoy his meds before he left.) Not only am I dealing with my big three allergies- dust, molds, mildews- but also I managed to get dosed with lactose and benadryl by accidentally grabbing Bree's fastmelts instead of my claritin ones... and then to break my vial of dragon's blood which contains cinnamon oil. So, yeah. I don't mind anointing the house before I go, but now I'm wheezing and have welts all over the parts of my body that are not covered in bruises.
So, yeah- today will be fun. @_@
Munchies:
Got Bree some snickerdoodles for the flight. Yep; found them in the specialty cookie aisle. Gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free goodness. YAY! And they do not contain cinnamon bark, so I can eat them. Dairy-free Bree (and me) are having dairy-free blintzes with chocolate syrup, and then cleaning out the fridge and washing the dishes for storage. Tonight we dine on fish! There is a sushi place way up the street that delivers (how cool, right?) as we live down the street. For convenience sushi, it's really good.
Massachusetts:
Flight booked for tomorrow at 8:30am; pickup at 10am. The cab comes around this time tomorrow, and we'll grab something quick to eat at the airport. If not, there be snickerdoodles! Bought a new suitcase for Bree, which will be more convenient as it has rollers. We'll have the cats in their shoulder Sherpa bags, and then two carry-ons. We should be ensconced in a nice hotel for the weekend while we celebrate our move and Aidan's birthday, then on to the Hawthorne Cove Marina.
Miscellaneous:
Yeah, there will be a ton of last-minute minutiae to attend to, such as contacting power companies and such. I just hope that I can remember everything. I need to pack and ship a few things FedEx, put others into storage, and get the trash and Salvation Army donations out of the way. Wish me luck and a safe flight!

Date: 2010-07-21 11:30 pm (UTC)From:I'm sorry to hear about your allergy issues! That's horrible. And I'm sorry to hear about the hitches in your moving efforts. But good for you for sticking to all your tasks! I'm impressed. I wish I had that drive.
At any rate, good luck, hon! If I don't get a chance to talk to you again for awhile, have a wonderful time, and I hope it all goes well! (And sorry for being absent for so long. I missed a lot of what was happening. Figures you'd be leaving right when I come back. ^__~)
