travel and exploration
Jan. 24th, 2010 07:23 pmSo, got the taxes done...
If all is well, we'll have something left over to work with. So, we asked the kids where they would like to go for our next road trip. Anywhere within a day's drive, like Boston. We tossed a few ideas around, Washington DC being high on the list since they want to do something fun and educational. Finally we settled on Philadelphia, which is somewhat closer than DC but offers many of their interests, where we can use our reciprocal memberships for zoos, aquariums, and museums. If possible, we may meet up with a few locals. We'll be in the area Feb. 13th-16th.
Also, filling out financial aid paperwork for Explo. I told Bryanna that we will just see how things go, but that she will need to get a recommendation from one of her teachers. Depending on the amount of financial aid, she may end up staying with her grandma in Watertown instead of on campus. When I asked how she felt, Bree said that she would prefer that, so that grandma isn't lonely. *aww...* What's cool is that I thought that her dad would be a hard sell on this, but he agrees that this would be a wonderful opportunity. So wish us luck!
